A Slice of Summer: Part II

Last week, the kiddies, some friends, and I took about an hour drive to the Spraygrounds at Dorbrook Recreation Area in Colts Neck, NJ. It was so much fun....and free!
We packed up a picnic lunch, threw on our bathing suits, grabbed our towels and enjoyed the day.

The Spraygrounds is located on a huge area of land. They have picnic tables for you to have lunch on if you choose to not lay out on a picnic blanket. There's also a snack stand with drinks, pretzels, and an assortment of ice cream and popsicles.

We had fun in the "dry" playground while we waited for our sunblock to dry. We had a blast on the monkey bars, awesome rolling slide,  sand area, etc. When we got hot we walked right over to the "wet" playground. There was water shooting and pouring from everywhere! The kiddies had fun filling up their buckets and dumping them on their friend's heads. So much fun!

I so love fun and easy days like this!

A Slice of Summer: Hayes' Family Adventures

Happy Monday Mommas!

Our weekends this summer have been filled with baseball, baseball, and more baseball. Our oldest, Jalen, plays baseball through our town during the spring and plays in tournaments throughout the summer until August.

We love to support him and the team, but we also have two little ones that need to have some fun rather than sit for six hours watching two baseball games. We load our van with a cooler, scooters, bags of jump ropes, balls, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, books, frisbees, and any other outdoor toy you can think of. Thank God they have friends that also have brothers who play on Jalen's team so its like an every weekend play date!
One of the things I love most is finding new fun places while in these new towns. This past weekend we had a tournament in Medford, NJ at the Bob Meyer Memorial Field. We pulled in and it was like my kids found Disney World (or Disney Woods as husband called it, lol)! This playground was awesome!

They ran out as fast as they could and never looked back. I didn't have to lug out all their toys once during our three hour stay, which was a nice break for this pregnant lady. :-) They climbed, slid down slides, played in the teepees, dug in the sand, swung, ran, and just had a blast.

They snacked at the one of the many picnic tables and checked out the nature trail near by. I must say it is one of the best parks that we have been to in quite a long time. It's a great addition to our "park tour" list. We'll definitely be back!
